Showdown: Matthew Satz at the Pollock-Krasner House

Since 1995, Matthew Satz has lived and painted on Long Island's East End. His mixed media works interrogate the history of painting while simultaneously imaging potential futures for the medium. This exhibition features a selection of signature works from throughout Satz's career as well as several new, site-responsive works.

Born in Brooklyn in 1971, Matthew Satz is a contemporary artist based on Long Island’s East End recognized for his conceptually driven, process-oriented work. Satz earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from Brandeis University in 1993 and continues to explore and evolve his practice with acute attention to challenging a history of painting. Satz has lived, worked and exhibited across the United States and abroad.
